Hwang's Parthanogenic Human ES cells

Not exactly breaking news, but it appears that the disgraced Korean stem cell researcher, Woo Suk Hwang, had created parthenotes and not cloned human ES cells. It would still have been some good work if they hadn't fabricated data such that it appeared they had cloned some ES cells.
If Hwang and his colleagues had been more careful in their analysis, Cibelli [Jose Cibelli of Michigan State University in East Lansing] says, they might still be famous instead of infamous: "It's unfortunate that they didn't see this themselves. It still was a great finding."
